Production of 2 legged Steel Wire Rope Sling Assembly
Two of the most common steel wire rope end terminations from mechanical splicing we produce in Sing Teck Leong, STL are the Soft-Eye Splice & the Thimble-Eye Splice (also known as Turn back Soft Eye or Turn back Thimbled Eye Splicing).
Refer to the picture below for the comparison of both the steel wire ropes' turn back eye termination.
Typically, for multiple legs wire rope sling assembly, the thimbled eye splicing termination is highly recommended for protecting the sling eyes where it is attached to another lifting gear, and/or links.
Today, let us focus on the thimble-eye mechanical splicing, going through the steps of producing the 2-legged wire rope ( thimble-eye) sling in our facility to showcase the splicing process.
