MOM E-SERVICE SYSTEM UPDATE - LA, LM REQUIREMENTS MEMO

With the new MOM system requirements as mandated by MOM, please refer to the 3 key changes/further requirement for LA/LM registration for seamless processing of Test Certificates by our AE/PE.

1) RE-CERTIFICATION OF USED LA/LM

With the new MOM system in place, it NO LONGER allows AEs to trace back the LA number using the existing serial number. hence for all recertification of used LA/LM,

• kindly ensure that the LA number is punched on the existing LA and the details tallied with the previous LA/LM cert.

• If the LA number is missing, the item would have to be re-registered as new.

For re-registration, the brand and original factory serial number must be present on the physical item before they can be re-registered.

If the brand and/or serial number is missing, the item MUST BE REJECTED.

2) TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP

The New system no longer allows for ownership of LA/LMs to be transferred directly. For transfer of ownership, the previous owner MUST log in to the MOM system using their credential and de-register the item before they can be transferred. (LINK below)

3) REGISTRATION OF USED LAs / RE-REGISTRATION OF USED LAs / REGISTRATION OF NEW LA/LM

• Consensus requirement from most AEs that every single LA must be load tested. and picture of the LA and load test must be provided for every single LA/LM.
  • for the picture, the LA/LM must be labeled with the following details:
    • LA/LM number / Serial Number
    • SWL

• Picture must be taken together with a load cell that shows the corresponding test load required for testing (1.5x of SWL).
