TEST & CERTIFICATION
Lifting Equipment / Gears need to be examined and issued with certification at regular intervals by an Authorized Examiner, as stipulated in the Workplace Safety and Health (General Provisions) Regulations

What are the Lifting Equipment to be Registered?
According to the MOM website, Lifts(LL) & Hoists(LH), Lifting Machines(LM), Lifting Platforms(LP), Lifting Appliances(LA) & Lifting Gears(LG) are required to be registered.

As for the examination and testing requirements for statutory lifting equipment, refer to the table (complied by MOM) below:

*For latest update, always refer to MOM website

Note: the yearly examination and load test by AE for lifting gears (LG) requirements based on 2020-01 MOM circular has been superseded by the 2025-08 version (above). Visual examination, functional and overload test is required currently.
